The purpose of this co-op is to offer academic structure to your homeschooling experience in a safe, Christ-centered environment with likeminded families. Shanan Co-op offers what is sometimes missed when solely educating from home such as field trips, science projects and full scale dramas designed to immerse your child in history and public speaking skills. We also highly value our families and strive to build community.

Our Statement of Faith

A strong education from a Biblical worldview is essential for all students. Shanan Classical was founded on the Christian faith and unashamedly operates as a Christian co-op program, centered on Christ and His unchanging Word, THE BIBLE.

All classes will strive to embody a Biblical worldview. We believe in the Trinity: God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is the son of God  and there is no other name by which one can be saved through the work of grace achieved by His crucifixion and resurrection.

Shanan encourages teaching in conjunction with the Bible, applying scripture throughout our subjects and classes, praying, worshiping, building Christian character and community.

What Others Are Saying

We’ve been so pleased with the variety and quality of classes offered at Shanan – for someone wanting to “check” the required high school credit boxes, you’ll find what you need, but, more than that, your student will receive a solid academic and Biblically grounded high school education, under experienced teachers and overseen by a well-organized administration.

It was fantastic on several levels.  First, the instruction was beyond anything I could do at home.  It was also good for my daughter to have “classroom” experience sitting in a room with other students and interacting with a teacher who was not her parent.   She did very well in a subject that she did not like.  After the success of her first class we decided to turn to Shanan for a variety of classes and they have all been fantastic.  The instructors really stretch the students but also hold them accountable.  No grade inflation or slacking off.

Growing up in co-op was so helpful to learn how to make friends and socialize. It was awesome to be challenged and have deadlines so I knew how it worked when I got to tutorials. Field trips were lots of fun. It was great to go out with your friends and learn the things that we talked about in class

Co-op was a great place to go to school. I started when I was in nursery. I stayed in co-op until I graduated in 8th grade. Everyone was really cool. I made lots of friends. My favorite class was writing. The teachers were awesome.

I started co-op when I was in first grade. My favorite memory is the marshmallow war we did when we studied the Civil War. All my classes were so much fun, from dissecting animals in resource and singing together in Praise and Worship. I’ve made life long friends and learned a ton.
